VGLan is a network that hosts few Flash animations and is centered around miscellaneous gaming. The original alias of VGLan was SMBZ, though it was before it became the site that is now known around the Internet.

Invision Free

During the InvisionFree-SMBZ era (sometimes nicknamed, "the glory days"). The atmosphere of VGL was alot different. In fact, it was a community as in having only a small, tight group of regulars who focused more on discussion.

The staff team consisted of Admin and Windy as the Administrators, and Luigio Zulen and Zidane as moderators. Arguably the most influential member of the SMBZ era, EvilJak played a big part in Zidane's eventual demotion due to their heavily one sided debate over the Power Puff Girls, and whether they are classed as a cartoon or an anime series. Zidane to a very long absence from SMBZ, only coming back when they community had moved to VGLan. In his stead the team decided to replace him with Wild Fire, a regular who seemed to stand out from the rest.

Time moved on, and SMBZ's community grew and grew thanks to a swarm of 2nd generation members. New and otherwise unnoticeable members started to make themselves known, and make themselves heard; one in particular being .Luke. Having deservedly reached regular status, his rank moved from member to Administrator within the space of a week thanks to the reckless Root Admin at the time. The 2nd generation members brought a new atmosphere to SMBZ. It was filled with inexpierenced youngsters. They focused more on laughs over actual discussions, and the 1st generation felt alienated to say the least.

IP.Board (VGLan 1)

VGLan first began it's new phase with Invision Power Board. Members registered, posted and the forum experience was enjoyable then. A few skins were created. Though drama had started very often, an incident referred to as the A to Z Incident was what made this used to be giant bandwidth consumer giant fall flat on it's face. After then, the activity fell immensely. Original members had now left and made roots elsewhere, or have completely left the Internet without a trace whatsoever. In addition, drama had become VGLan's center of attraction at one point after the incident had taken place. Though the drama slowly died, as did activity and members complained about needing more drama.

VGLan had gained a new name by members-"VGLag". Due to IP.Board taking up high memory and usage, along with the dial-up assassinating skins, members had now called it VGLag. Faltzer thought this joke was pretty funny, thus influencing him to register VGlag.com as an alternate mirror to access the VGLan Website.

vBulletin (VGLan 2)

Doug, an anonymous VGLan member had offered Windytrail his vBulletin license, free of charge and had told Windy that VGLan needs a new beginning, in order to erase the bad past and all of the corrupt files and databases + consuming of resources the forum had. Windytrail agreed, and VGLan had to start fresh, and it had gone through a 'Fresh Beginning', and the member base was not ported from the IP.Board. The forums were created, and a few of the past staff positions that were once in the IP.Board forum, were no more. Old members began swarming back to VGLan. Some to cause trouble, and some to make their stay a pleasant one.
